Sanada-himo Research Association’s workshop ![]()
The Sanada-himo Research Association’s workshop is located in Kudoyama
Town, Wakayama Prefecture.
Sanada-himo is a flat, woven cord made
using warp and weft threads.
It is said that Sanada Nobushige
(Yukimura)—who lived in forced seclusion in Kudoyama following the Battle of
Sekigahara—made and sold Sanada-himo to earn a living.
The Sanada-himo Research Association’s
workshop opened in 2016.
Visitors can observe and try their hand at
making Sanada-himo, and items such as straps made from the cord are available
for purchase.
It is a walk of approximately 10 minutes
from Kudoyama Station on the Nankai Koya Line.
